A two-hour workshop for ages 8-16 teaching strategies and tools to manage emotions healthily.
Service Description
Through purposeful creative activities, participants will enjoy a special time learning strategies and tools to manage strong emotions. Using strengths-based practice and solution-focused therapy, activities are designed to equip participants with practical tools to strengthen social and emotional well-being in everyday life. In this special workshop, we will guide participants on how to: 🌻Understand Emotions: Explore the world of emotions, increase emotional literacy and reflect on what happens when we don't manage them. 🌻 React vs. Respond and Tools to Manage Strong Emotions: Dive into the difference between reacting and responding, how to calm our brains to handle difficult situations and tools to manage strong emotions. 🌻 Emotion Thermometer: Identify their very own "Emotion Thermometer" and learn how to read it like a pro. Recognise when emotions start to rise and get the skills to manage them effectively. Meet Racheal Wallis, a Registered Social Worker (NZSWRB) and experienced facilitator. Over the past two decades, she has worked with young people and families in New Zealand, London, and Los Angeles. Her passion? Crafting awesome programs that light up the world for young people aged 9 to 25 and their parents.
