Through purposeful creative activities, participants will enjoy a special time learning strategies and tools to manage strong emotions. Using strengths-based practice and solution-focused therapy, activities are designed to equip participants with practical tools to strengthen social and emotional well-being in everyday life. In this special workshop, we will guide participants on how to: 🌻Understand Emotions: Explore the world of emotions, increase emotional literacy and reflect on what happens when we don't manage them. 🌻 React vs. Respond and Tools to Manage Strong Emotions: Dive into the difference between reacting and responding, how to calm our brains to handle difficult situations and tools to manage strong emotions. 🌻 Emotion Thermometer: Identify their very own "Emotion Thermometer" and learn how to read it like a pro. Recognise when emotions start to rise and get the skills to manage them effectively. Meet Racheal Wallis, a Registered Social Worker (NZSWRB) and experienced facilitator. Over the past two decades, she has worked with young people and families in New Zealand, London, and Los Angeles. Her passion? Crafting awesome programs that light up the world for young people aged 9 to 25 and their parents. What they say: Participants: "It was sigma and fun!" "I learnt how to control my emotions." "I enjoyed the breathing exercises and how to make yourself calm." "It was amazing" Parent Feedback: "Wow wow wow!! My daughter hasn't stopped talking about today's workshop! She thanked me so many times. She absolutely loved it, my gosh thank you so much!! I wish you did more!!" "I just wanted to say thank you. My daughters have really enjoyed your courses and are keen to attend another one when they come up. They felt the calming strategies were better than what the psychologist taught them. This has been a great addition to reiterate what they had already learnt. A group setting with kids their own age made it more enjoyable."
